Founded in 2012, The Patterson Club Scholarship Fund distributes meaningful awards to selected deserving employees and caddies who clearly demonstrate a desire to further their post-secondary education, a commitment to the Patterson Club community, academic achievement, and financial need.  More than $150,000 has been granted to deserving students.

What is The Patterson Club Scholarship Fund?
Founded in 2012, The Patterson Club Scholarship Fund provides meaningful financial awards to deserving employees and caddies who demonstrate a strong commitment to furthering their post-secondary education. Recipients are selected based on their dedication to the Patterson Club community, academic achievement, and financial need. To date, more than $150,000 has been awarded to students pursuing higher education.
Who is eligible to apply?
Current caddies and employees pursuing post-secondary education at a trade school or university are encouraged to apply.
Who selects the scholarship recipients?
The Fairfield County Scholarship Foundation, an independent organization, reviews and scores applications based on the criteria established by The Patterson Club.
Can I reapply if I’ve applied before?
Yes! If you applied in past years, you may apply again in 2024. Previous applications will not be considered.
Is a FAFSA required?
While you may apply without submitting a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), financial need is one of the scoring criteria. Applications without a FAFSA will not receive points in this section.
Do I need my manager’s permission to apply?
No, manager approval is not required. However, your manager may be a helpful resource during the application process.
What if my FAFSA file is too large to upload?
You can compress your PDF using free online tools such as Adobe Acrobat.
Do I need to submit an official transcript?
An official transcript is preferred, but a copy from your student portal will also be accepted.
Will incomplete applications be considered?
No, only completed applications will be reviewed. If you need assistance, contact Khalilah Johnson at kjohnson@fccfoundation.org well before the deadline.
When is the application deadline?
The application closes on August 25, 2024. Start early to ensure you have enough time to complete all requirements.
How do I request a Work History Letter?
From the Application Portal, use the “Compose Email” feature and send the following:
  • To: rgoodrich@cartermorse.com
  • Subject: Work History Letter – (Your Name)
  • Message: Begin with “Dear Mr. Goodrich…”
What if my Work History Letter is missing?
The Scholarship Chair completes Work History Letters in August. If you requested one through the Application Portal and completed all other steps before August 25, your application is considered complete.

What is the award amount, and when is it distributed?
Awards typically range from $1,000 to $10,000. Funds are sent directly to the recipient’s educational institution in the fall and are usually applied to the spring semester tuition expense.
